Day 1

Kurawewe

You will spend the next few days with a Mapuche community in Kurawewe. After the welcome, you will visit the Aldea Trawupeyum, where you will learn more about the life of the Mapuche, such as cultural practices, music, community, ceremonies and everyday life. Afterwards, you will visit different craftsmen who will give you an insight into their work. After a typical lunch, you can practice your own weaving in a workshop before being taken to your accommodation.

Day 2

Kurawewe

Today you will head to the Villarrica National Park, where you will take a walk through the Patagonian forest full of Araucarias. Lunch is served by the lagoon Carilfaken, where you have a view of the Lanín volcano. Enjoy the magnificent panoramic view of the mountain range and the volcanoes before returning to Kurawewe in the late afternoon.

Day 3

Kurawewe

After breakfast you will be taken to one of the gardens where you will learn more about agriculture. In this context, you will also visit a cattle farmer who will tell you more about the animals. In the afternoon you will learn how the Mapuche make natural soap at a workshop before the day ends with a hike to the Copihupulli waterfalls.

Day 4

Kurawewe - Reigolil - Melipeuco

After breakfast you will drive to Reigolil, a community north of Kurarewe. On the way you make a stop to visit the impressive Malalco waterfalls. In Reigolil you can learn more about the medicinal herbs of the Mapuche. After lunch we continue to Melipeuco, where you will spend the night.

Day 5

Melipeuco - Conguillio National Park

Today you will make an excursion to the Conguillio National Park, where you can go trekking in the Sierra Nevada. In addition to the typical Auracania trees, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Llaima volcano and Lake Conguillio. Enjoy lunch in the middle of nature at the lookout point before heading back to Melipeuco, where your experience with the Mapuche ends.
