DAY 1
Arrival at the Cuyabeno Reserve
You will land at the Lago Agrio airport, where a member of the hostel staff will meet you to accompany you on the journey to the dock. You will go by motorized canoe on the Cuyabeno River. During the journey you will observe different types of birds and you will enjoy the panorama that opens before your eyes. Then, you will arrive at Laguna Grande where the hostel is located. You will discover your rooms in the heart of the forest of one of the most biodiverse places on the planet. At the end of the afternoon you will contemplate the sunset over the lagoon.
DAY 2
Hike in the primary forest and navigation in the lagoon
You will walk in the primary forest to learn a little more about this ecosystem. Your guide will teach you about the medicinal plants found on the trail dotted with giant trees, magnificent birds, monkeys, and insects. Then you will sail through the Laguna Grande and with a little luck you will be able to spot pink dolphins! Once night has fallen, you will look for alligators on the banks of the river before returning to the lodge.
DAY 3
Meeting with the community
You will sail towards the community of Tarapuy where you will share a moment with the inhabitants who will teach you their traditions, crafts and their use of natural resources. Lunch in the community. In the afternoon, you will explore the primary forest in search of nocturnal insects such as spiders, lizards and scorpions.
DAY 4
R egress to civilization
The last excursion is a new opportunity to contemplate the beauty of the flora and fauna of the reserve before arriving at the town of Lago Agrio
