DAY 1

FROM HAVANA TO THE TERRACES

Exit from the Siboney neighborhood, crossing the west of Havana to reach Santa Fé-Baracoa. Later, a total change of scenery in Las Terrazas with lush vegetation and sustainable development policies. The dirt roads feature many curves and are used for international VTT training and competition. The relatively long track is recommended for trained cyclists, where you will have excitement and a change of scenery!

  • Morning: Early departure. Snack and then climb the Sierra del Rosario.

  • Lunch: Picnic in Charco Azul (Included).

  • Free afternoon.

  • Dinner: free.

  • Accommodation: Accommodation in a private house, Moka.

DAY 2

THE SINUOUS CURVES OF SAN CRISTOBA AND MEDICINAL REST

The stage takes place among wildlife and flowers, also taking asphalt trails. From the natural point of view it offers a formidable panorama. The route borders the town of San Cristóbal; An authentic town with irregular roads before reaching San Diego de los Baños and its river of miraculous waters according to legend. Given the length and the technical nature of the route (many turns and a very significant slope) a certain level of training is recommended.

  • Morning: Early departure. Rest and snack at the Mirador Naturel.

  • Lunch: Afternoon in the municipality of San Cristóbal (Included). Afternoon: Arrival in San Diego de los Baños in the middle of the afternoon.

  • Dinner: At the lodging place (Included).

  • Accommodation: San Diego de Los Baños: Rural hotel.

  • Summary of the day: Las Terrazas - San Diego de los Baños: 75 km. At approximately 8 a.m. Cumulative elevation gain: 506m. Difficult 3/3.

DAY 3

THE CAVE OF THE PORTALES AND THE MOGOTES DE VIÑALES

The valleys of Viñales; Registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The community has known how to conserve its ecosystem and has developed the practice of ecotourism. The route begins in San Diego and invites cyclists to climb the mountain trails from the heights of San Andrés, with a fairly significant drop. Taking into account the length of the route and the difficulty of the trails, a certain level of training is required.

  • Morning: Early departure. snack in the heights of San Andrés. Excursion accompanied by a guide to the Los Portales cave. Possibility of swimming in the lake.

  • Lunch: With the painter Remedio at the Cueva de los Portales site (included).

  • Afternoon: Arrival in Viñales mid-afternoon. Dinner: free.

  • Accommodation: Private house type Shoppy Standard.

  • Summary of the day: San Diego de los Baños - Viñales: 51 km. Approximately at 7am. Cumulative elevation gain: 236m. Difficult 3/3.

DAY 4

THE NORTH COAST, DISCOVER A PORT TO SLEEP

This area forms a circuit from Viñales to Puerto Esperanza, where the roads (~ 50% asphalt / 50% of the terrain) are bordered by the Mogote; typical natural formations of the region. These are adorned with lush vegetation and quaint communities. Here the opportunity to share and talk, especially with students and teachers from the rural school. The walk leads to an authentic fishing village, with fairly flat routes.

  • Morning: Early departure. Snack and visit to a rural school, possibility of making a donation.

  • Lunch: At Teresa restaurant in Puerto Esperanza (Included)

  • Afternoon: Arrival in Viñales early in the afternoon.

  • Dinner: free.

  • Accommodation: Accommodation in a private house of the Shoppy Standard type.

  • Summary of the day: Viñales - Puerto Esperanza - Viñales: 50 km. Approximately 4 h. Cumulative elevation gain: 150 m. Difficulty 2/3.
