DANCE THE SALSA IN HAVANA

A fusion of various musical genres, salsa has become one of the most popular dance rhythms in Cuba. Although it was born between Puerto Rico and New York, its origins are derived from Cuban rhythms, mainly the Sound, but also the Cha-cha-cha, the Mambo ... Danced as a couple, the basic step once acquired allows all possible variations and to the limit of the leader's imagination.

Day 4

THE PURE OF PINAR DEL RÍO

Tobacco was discovered in Cuba by Christopher Columbus during his first trip to America. The Taino Indians, native to the island, used it during religious ceremonies. The tobacco industry developed in the 19th century, mainly thanks to the Spanish. At that time, Napoleón, among others, smoked cigars, and to this day generations have followed one another to sing the praises of the Habano, the best cigar in the world. Like the great French wines, the cigar would be nothing without the land, the climate and the people. This local activity is concentrated in a few hectares in the province of Pinar del Río, between San Luis and San Juan y Martínez.

Listed as a UNESCO cultural heritage, the Viñales Valley stands out for the conservation of its terrestrial ecosystems, the practice of manual agriculture and the typical music of the valley.

THE CENOTES OF THE CIENAGA DE ZAPATA

The Ciénaga de Zapata Natural Park is above all a protected natural sanctuary. Several farms that breed the prehistoric fish Manjuari, witness to the passage from gill to lung respiration. Crossing paths covered by vegetation, you will discover the endemic flora and fauna to reach a cenote, a natural pool in which you can swim and that responds to the curious name of Cuba-Czechoslovakia ...

Day 7

DIVING IN SEARCH OF THE LIONFISH

The Ciénaga de Zapata is a natural park cataloged by UNESCO and is the site of numerous migratory birds, it covers an immense territory of marshes on the outskirts of the Caribbean coast. It was also the scene of the Bay of Pigs landing. The cenotes (interlocking rock plates) make it an exceptional dive site. The lionfish, a cousin of the Rascasse, has invaded the Antilles like a plague. Its only predator is humans, it is allowed to fish and it is found on the restaurant menu. However, sometimes you have to descend as low as 30 meters to hunt it.

Day 8

CIENFUEGOS, DISCOVERY OF A FRENCH CITY

Cienfuegos is one of the last cities built in Cuba. It was created by French immigrants from the southern United States. Its rectilinear and airy architecture is representative of its origins. Located at the bottom of one of the largest bays in Cuba, it has a coastal influence, like a port. The Terry Theater, the Paseo del Prado, the terrace overlooking Punta Gorda of the magnificent Palacio del Valle bear witness to a rich past.

TRINIDAD AND THE VALLEY OF THE WITNESSES ON HORSEBACK

Trinidad is listed as a World Heritage Site for the landscape offered by the Valle de los Ingenios. In the mid-18th century, no less than 150 farms participated in the country's main economy, the production of cane sugar. Nothing remains of this golden age in the valley, except a superb nature always favorable for the cultivation of sugarcane. Traveling on horseback through these wide open spaces places the traveler in the atmosphere of a past.

Day 10

SANTA CLARA, THE CITY OF CHE

It is Che, by order of Fidel Castro, who will be in charge of taking Santa Clara and thus giving the coup de grace to the Batista government. We are at the end of 1958. After stopping at the University with his column of Barbudos, Che decides to climb the Cerro del Capiro to plan his attack. It will be the derailment of the train that was carrying about 25,000 soldiers of the regular army. Eventually they will surrender and, 8 days later, Fidel entered Havana triumphantly. Visiting Santa Clara is traveling through the pages of history that definitely changed the island's destiny.

REMEDIES, ITS WHITE GOLD AND ITS PARRADAS

This authentic town, north of Villa Clara, survived during the 18th century thanks to exchanges with privateers and pirates, especially French. There are still names like the Hôtel Mascotte or the Café du Louvre. This town full of legends and preserved from tourism is famous today for its December 24 and the celebration of the Las Parrandas (national heritage) festivities. This event is presented during a visit to their secret workshops. The Museum of the Sugar Industry presents a plant that is currently closed, as well as a magnificent collection of steam locomotives, witnesses of the main commercial activity in Cuba for several centuries.

For this last day in Cayo Santa María, it is possible to enjoy this paradisiacal place in several ways: the idleness that we like on vacation to let ourselves go and enjoy doing nothing ... or opt for a deep sea fishing session! In an almost virgin domain, with shallow waters and coral areas, fans will discover this sport in a preserved place in the Caribbean. RETURN TO HAVANA FOR ONE LAST MOJITO

There are a few hours left for a last swim in the sea and then drive to Havana. One last Mojito will allow us to share your feelings with our team during your stay. Boarding for the return flight.

  • Afternoon: Transfer between Cayo Santa María and Havana. Pause for a last Mojito and exchange with the trip organizer. Transfer to the Havana airport according to flight schedules.
