Today you arrive at Trelew Airport, located about 60km from Puerto Madryn. A private transfer will bring you from here to the small town on the Atlantic coast. The rest of the day is at your own disposal to explore the area.

Day 2

Peninsula Valdes

In the morning you will be picked up and drive towards the Valdés peninsula. The great distance to the nearest town makes the nature reserve a very quiet place with a unique fauna and flora. Your guide will tell you all about this semi-arid area, which is used for sheep breeding and where you can see free-running guanacos and ostriches. As you approach the coast, with a bit of luck you may see sea lions, penguins and maybe even whales!

You get the best view of the ocean giants from the water, which is why the boat trip is included in the season (August to November). From Puerto Piramides, the small port town on the peninsula, start to the highlight of the day –you go out to the sea, where there is a very great chance to see the South Kaper whales and their offspring from up close!

Day 3

Punta Tomba Penguin Reserve

You leave Puerto Madryn today heading south to reach the penguin colony of Punta Tombo. Along the way, your guide will explain the peculiarities and the behaviour of these animals. Once you have finally arrived, you can experience the penguins up close on a tour of the reserve. With a little luck you will also get to see the offspring of the animals!

It is also possible to visit an information centre about the flora and fauna of the region.

Day 4

End of the tour Puerto Madryn

Today you will be transferred from the hotel back to the airport in Trelew. Depending on the departure time, you will have time to enjoy the beach or take part in one of the optional excursions, such as snorkeling with sea lions: only in very few places in the world is it possible to be so close to the friendly animals – this is something you should not miss!
